Examinations
Through the cooperation of the DIaiB (German Iaido Bund e.V.) with the German Kendo Bund (DKenB),
we are represented internationally in the European Kendo Federation (EKF) and the International Kendo Federation (FIK).
All exams held within the scope of the DIaiB are internationally recognized.
Note: Printing the yellow EKF cards:
In principle, the yellow EKF cards are no longer required, as all entries in an EKF database can be viewed by authorized persons.
If you still need an EKF card, please contact the examination department. We can now print the EKF cards ourselves.
PLEASE NOTE:
Admission to the examination and issuance of a Permit only takes place after the database has been checked by the EKF.
If there are any problems regarding the current grading, it must be clarified with the examination unit BEFORE the exam!
Exam registration is only possible online! Registration closes 8 weeks before the respective exam date.
In the federal courses, only Dan exams take place.
Kyu exams are organized by the national associations.
Please also note that from now on the time will be measured and evaluated during the test.
For examinations in Japan, the permit application must be submitted to the examination unit at least 6 months before the examination date.
For examinations in other countries, the permit application must be submitted to the examination unit at least 2 months before the examination date.
And "at least" in this case does not mean that the application will only be made afterwards, but before this date. Otherwise it cannot be guaranteed that the permission can be granted in good time. Applications after this date will be rejected without exception.

EXAMINATION QUESTIONS
The examination questions for the aimed 1. -5. Dan are available as forms in the Mediathek in the document download area.
Answers are limited to a maximum of 1000 characters and must not exceed this number!
The form with the completed answers has to be uploaded directly to the registration form.
The document with the exam questions can be submitted regardless of the examination date (at least 8 weeks before the examination date).
F.e. if you want to take the exam in October, you can submit the draft as early as March. Online registration must also be used for this.
Any necessary rework on the examination questions will be forwarded to the examinees by the examination unit.
This reworking must be submitted to the examination office at least 4 weeks before the examination date.
If the answers still do not meet the requirements, the examinee will not be admitted to the exam.
